Ludovic Spiess

Ludovic Spiess was a Romanian lyric tenor, Minister of Culture (1991-1992) and director of the Romanian Opera in Bucharest (2001-2005).

Born in a family of humble people without musical education, young Spiess discovered great music in 18 years, in a concert hall in Brasov.

He had an extensive career, singing on the most famous stages in the country and in the world and winning numerous international awards, playing with gret names like: Brigit Nilsson, Martina Arroyo, Nicolai Ghiaurov, Christa Ludwig, Gwyneth Jones, Katia Ricciarelli, Virginia Zeani, Peter Schreier, Mario Serena, Cesare Siepi, Sena Juriac, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau… collaborating with conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, Karl Bohm, Roberto Band, mishaps Giuseppe Alberto heredity, Otto Klemperer, Kurt Adler, Nello Santi, Wolfgang Sawalisch, Francesco Molinari-Pradella, Josef Krips, Rafael Kubelik, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Boris Haitink, Michel Plasson and Ricardo Muti.
