Born this day in Neudorf Saskatchewan, Henry Taube, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1983 for his work on the mechanism of an electron transfer reaction. Taube was the author of more than 300 scientific papers and was the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Medal of Science in 1977, the Priestley Medal in 1985, two Guggenheim Fellowships early in his career (1949 and 1955) as well as numerous honorary doctorates. Henry Taube died in his home in Palo Alto, California on November 16, 2005.
