Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss!

American children’s author Theodore Seuss Geisel produced some of the most popular children’s books of all time under the pen name Dr. Seuss. He adopted the pen name during his studies at Dartmouth College and went on to work as an illustrator and cartoonist for Vanity Fair, Life Magazine, and the New York newspaper PM. During World War II, he worked in the animation department of the United States Army and produced several short films including Design for Death which later won the 1947 Academy Award for Documentary Feature. Dr. Seuss wrote and illustrated over 60 books throughout his career including Horton Hears A Who, The Cat in The Hat, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
