April 4th Memoriam Spotlight: Bea Benaderet was quite the character in real life which probably helped her channel a wide assortment of characters behind the microphone and on front of the camera. First on radio beginning at the age of 12, then on television, Bea was a genius at dialects and provided the voice of many cartoon characters including Betty Rubble on „The Flintstones”. On-camera, Bea was the heart and soul of „Petticoat Junction” which ended soon after her death from cancer. Known to use „colorful language” behind the scenes, Bea kept her co-stars laughing with ad-libs and placing bets on what lines a fellow actor would flub.
