April 18th Memoriam Spotlight: Miklos Rozsa was the Oscar-winning composer of choice for noir features such as „Double Indemnity” (1944), epics like „Ben-Hur” (1959), adventure such as „Time After Time” (1979), and comedy like „Adam’s Rib” (1949), with his mood-setting music which always enhanced the action without being intrusive. He was innovative using instruments like the theremin in „Spellbound” (1945), and in „The Power” (1968) effectively used the cimbalom. The iconic „Dragnet” music („Dum-de-dum-dum”) was written by Rozsa for „The Killers” (1946) and can be heard near the end of the movie.
