Johnny Depp este un actor, scenarist, regizor, producător și muzician american. A câștigat Globul de Aur și premiul academiei, Screen Actors Guid pentru Cel Mai Bun Actor. A ieșit în evidență în anii 1981, odată cu serialul 21 Jump Street, devenind un idol al adolescenților.

Depp a acceptat provocarea vieții lui de a accepta roluri „mai mari decât viața„, începând cu un rol secundar în filmul lui Oliver Stone, Platoon, despre Războiul din Vietnam și care a apărut în 1986, apoi a jucat rolul principal în filmul fantezist Edward Scissorhands (1990).

John Christopher Depp II is an American actor, producer, and musician, one of the most versatile actors of his day and age in Hollywood. Depp was raised in Florida. He dropped out of school when he was 15, and fronted a series of music-garage bands, including one named The Kids.

A visit to Los Angeles, California, happened to be a blessing in disguise, when he met up with actor Nicolas Cage, who advised him to turn to acting, which culminated in Depp’s film debut in the low-budget horror film, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), where he played a teenager who falls prey to dream-stalking demon Freddy Krueger.

After numerous roles in teen-oriented films, his first of a handful of great collaborations with director Tim Burton came about when Depp played the title role in Edward Scissorhands (1990).
